1. Who we are & acceptance of these terms
FindIt501 (“FindIt501,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates findit501.com and related services (collectively, the “Service”) — an online business directory and discovery platform for businesses operating in Belize. In these terms, “you” or “user” means anyone who accesses the Service, and “business owner” means a person who lists, claims, or manages a business listing.
By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy, Listing Data & Removal Policy, and Trust, Safety & Security Policy, which are incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What the Service is — and is not
FindIt501 is an information and discovery platform: a searchable directory that helps people find businesses in Belize. It is not a marketplace, broker, payment processor, or agent. We do not sell, supply, deliver, or guarantee the goods or services of any business listed on the Service, and we are not a party to any transaction, communication, appointment, or agreement between a user and a business. Nothing on the Service constitutes professional, medical, legal, financial, or other regulated advice.
3. The services we provide, and how
Depending on your role, the Service may include:
- Business profiles & the directory — a profile page for each business with its category, location, contact details, products/menu/services, and links.
- Search, categories & map — tools to discover businesses by keyword, category, district, and location.
- Reviews & ratings — user-submitted opinions about businesses.
- Listing claims & verification — a process for a business owner to claim their listing, confirm ownership, and receive a “Verified” badge.
- Owner accounts & dashboard — an optional self-service account to manage a claimed listing.
- Paid memberships — optional plans (described in section 7) that unlock additional features.
- Performance analytics & reports — for paid businesses, aggregate metrics such as page views, unique visitors, and contact taps, including a periodic performance report.
How listings are built. Listing data comes from two sources: information compiled from publicly available sources, and information provided directly by business owners. Where an owner edits a claimed listing, those edits are merged with and take precedence over the underlying data. Updates may take a short time to appear across the Service. Because data is partly compiled from public sources, some listings may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. See our Listing Data & Removal Policy.
4. Listings are informational, not endorsements
Listings are provided for general information only. A listing on FindIt501 is not an endorsement, certification, recommendation, or guarantee of any business, nor of its products, services, licensing, qualifications, or quality. Always verify details directly with the business before relying on them or making a purchase.
5. Transactions are between you and the business
We are not responsible for any dealing, transaction, appointment, payment, or dispute between you and any business found through the Service. This includes medical, legal, financial, and other professional services — you are solely responsible for confirming a provider’s credentials, licensing, and suitability. Exercise the same caution you would with any business you find online.
6. Business owner accounts & responsibilities
If you register an owner account or submit a claim, you agree that:
- You will only claim or manage a business that you own or are authorized to represent.
- The information you provide is accurate, current, and not misleading, and you will keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
- We may require reasonable proof of ownership or authority (for example, business registration or a Belize Chamber of Commerce / BCCAR document) before verifying or activating certain features.
- You will promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your account at info@findit501.com.
7. Paid memberships, fees & billing
Business owners may keep a free listing or subscribe to an optional paid membership. The available plans, their features, and their prices (in Belize Dollars, BZD) are described on our Plans page and shown at sign-up. Features and prices may change from time to time; the price applicable to you is the one shown when you subscribe or renew.
Founding Member promotion
From time to time we offer a launch promotion. Under the current Founding Member offer, a business that subscribes to a paid plan before the stated deadline makes a single payment that covers its first two (2) months; the plan then renews at the normal monthly rate from the third month onward. Promotional terms apply only to sign-ups within the promotion window and may be modified or withdrawn for future sign-ups at any time.
Payment, refunds, renewal & cancellation
- Payment methods. Paid memberships are settled in BZD through Belize Bank’s secure online payment gateway. Your card details are entered on the bank’s own secure page and processed by the bank — FindIt501 does not collect or store your card number, and we will never ask for your online-banking password, PIN, or one-time codes.
- Monthly plans. Billed each month. You may cancel any time; cancellation stops the next charge and your listing reverts to Free at the end of the paid month. The current month is non-refundable.
- Yearly plans. Billed once for the year. If you cancel within 14 days of purchase, you get a full refund. After 14 days the annual fee is non-refundable, but your paid features stay active for the full year you paid for; cancelling simply turns off automatic renewal.
- How to cancel or request a refund. Email info@findit501.com from the address on your listing. Eligible refunds are returned to the original payment method within a reasonable time.
- Renewals. Unless cancelled, paid memberships renew for successive periods at the then-current rate.
- Non-payment. If a renewal is not paid, paid features may be suspended or removed and the listing may revert to Free.
- Free is free. Inclusion in, correction of, or removal from the directory is always free and never conditional on payment.
- Taxes. You are responsible for any taxes applicable to your purchase except taxes on our income.
8. Reviews & user content
When you submit a review, rating, photo, or other content (“User Content”), you agree that:
- It is based on your genuine, first-hand experience and is honest and not misleading.
- It is not false, defamatory, harassing, obscene, hateful, or unlawful.
- It does not infringe anyone’s rights or contain spam, advertising, or the personal data of others.
- You will not post fake, paid, or incentivized reviews, or multiple reviews to manipulate ratings.
You retain ownership of your User Content but grant FindIt501 a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, sublicensable license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute it on and in connection with the Service. We may moderate, edit, refuse, or remove any content at our discretion — including content that violates these terms. We are not obligated to monitor User Content and are not responsible for it.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, copy, harvest, or republish the directory or its data without our written permission.
- Access the Service by automated means except a search engine’s standard indexing.
- Interfere with, overload, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, its accounts, or its infrastructure.
- Misrepresent your identity or your authority to act for a business, or impersonate FindIt501.
- Upload malware, or use the Service to send spam or unlawful communications.
- Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.
10. Communications & consent
When you submit a listing, claim, order, or review, or create an account, you consent to receive Service-related communications from us — for example confirmations, receipts, verification and claim updates, and account or security notices. If you operate a paid business, you also consent to receive periodic performance reports for your listing. You can ask to stop non-essential emails by contacting info@findit501.com; we may still send essential transactional or security messages.
11. Intellectual property
The FindIt501 name, logo, design, software, and original content are owned by FindIt501 and protected by applicable law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for its intended purpose. Business names, logos, and marks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only.
12. Privacy & security
Our handling of information is described in our Privacy Policy, and the measures we take to protect the platform and its users are described in our Trust, Safety & Security Policy. By using the Service you acknowledge those policies.
13. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any listing information is correct. Any reliance on the Service is at your own risk.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FindIt501 and its operators, owners, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, reliance on any listing, or dealings with any business found through the Service. To the extent any liability is not excluded, our total aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or (b) BZD $100.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FindIt501 and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your User Content, your listings, or your breach of these terms or of any law or third-party right.
16. Third-party links & services
Listings and pages may link to third-party websites, social media, and services we do not control, including those of our infrastructure providers. We are not responsible for their content, products, or practices, and your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
17. Suspension & termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Service (including any account or listing) at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe these terms or the law have been violated, or to protect the Service or its users. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 4, 5, 8, 11, 13–16, and 19) will survive.
18. Changes to the Service or these terms
We may modify, add to, or discontinue any part of the Service, and we may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
19. Governing law, disputes & contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Belize, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, and you and FindIt501 submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Belize. Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us at info@findit501.com and attempt to resolve the matter informally and in good faith.
20. General
These terms, together with the policies referenced above, are the entire agreement between you and FindIt501 regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them in connection with a transfer of the Service. Questions: info@findit501.com.
